Iberian Lighting was tasked with creating a series of fun and brand-led bespoke lights for Pizza Pilgrims. The brief called for lighting that reflected the restaurant’s playful identity, using everyday objects transformed into imaginative fixtures.
The collection included pizza peel wall lights, cheese-shaped pendant lamps, and — most memorably — a Piaggio Ape van installation. Stacked with tomato tins, some appearing to fly off the back, the van became a standout feature. Instead of using replicas, we sourced real tomato tins by the pallet, carefully opened and washed them, then fitted them with light fittings. Each tin was drilled and hung at dynamic angles using wires, adding to the playful, chaotic energy of the installation.
We also converted oversized faux parmesan cheeses into pendant lights, embracing the humour and creativity of Pizza Pilgrims’ brand. The result was a bold, relevant, and memorable lighting scheme that captured the restaurant’s spirit while demonstrating how bespoke lampshade and lighting design
can push the boundaries of creativity.
This project also reinforces Iberian Lighting’s expertise in hospitality lighting projects
, showing how custom fixtures can become central to a restaurant’s character and customer experience.
