For Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of Death on the Nile, we created a series of Art Deco–inspired bespoke lampshades to help capture the glamour and intrigue of Agatha Christie’s classic murder mystery.

The film’s Egyptian backdrop called for lighting that was both romantic and period-authentic. We produced a range of tapered oval and empire lampshades, crafted in parchment and silk, to reflect the style and materials of the 1930s. These shades were designed to complement the opulent interiors of the river steamer and bring a sense of elegance to Poirot’s world.

This project highlights how bespoke Art Deco lighting design can set the perfect mood for storytelling — blending classic craftsmanship with cinematic atmosphere to enhance both character and setting.
