Handmade Cone Lampshades

The cone lampshade has a tapered profile, usually with a smaller top ring and wider lower ring. It offers a sharper, more defined outline than many traditional lampshade shapes, making it useful where a lamp base or pendant fitting needs a clear geometric form.

Each cone lampshade is handmade in our UK workshop and can be ordered from our standard range or developed as a bespoke cone lampshade for a specific project. We can make cone shades in a wide choice of fabrics, linings, trims and finishes, including customer’s own material where suitable.

What Is a Cone Lampshade?

A cone lampshade has sloped sides that move from a narrower top to a wider base. Compared with an empire lampshade, the cone form usually feels more precise and graphic, particularly when made in plain fabric or a strong colour.

The shape works well where the shade needs to sit cleanly above a lamp base or create a more directional profile as a pendant shade.

Choosing the Right Cone Lampshade

Cone lampshades can work well in contemporary homes, bedrooms, hospitality interiors and decorative schemes where the lighting needs a more structured outline.

The final appearance depends on the height, diameter, fabric and lining selected. A taller cone can feel more elegant and elongated, while a wider, shallower cone creates a more open profile.
