Handmade Camber Wavy Lampshades

The Camber wavy lampshade is a tapered shaped shade with a soft wave edge. It keeps the familiar proportions of a tapered lampshade, while the shaped perimeter gives the shade a more decorative outline than a plain cone, empire or coolie form.

Each Camber lampshade is handmade in our UK workshop and can be ordered from our standard range or developed as a bespoke shaped lampshade for a specific project. We can make Camber shades in a wide choice of fabrics, linings, trims and finishes, including customer’s own material where suitable.

What Is a Camber Wavy Lampshade?

A Camber wavy lampshade is a tapered shade with a wave detail around the lower edge. The top ring is smaller than the base, giving it a sloped profile, while the shaped edge adds movement to the outline of the shade.

Compared with a standard cone lampshade, the Camber has a softer decorative profile. Compared with a coolie lampshade, it offers more shaped detail around the perimeter rather than a plain circular base.

Choosing the Right Camber Lampshade

Camber lampshades can work well in bedrooms, sitting rooms, boutique hospitality interiors and decorative schemes where the shade needs to carry more of the design detail.

The fabric needs to be selected with the wave edge in mind. Plain fabrics can make the shaped outline more visible, while textured or patterned fabrics can add further detail if the scale of the pattern suits the frame.
